THE Black Mountain has been turned into a gold mine for the a selected class of the UPND big wigs who are sharing the spoils and it would be prudent for the Auditor General to consider auditing the slug damp because it is evident that money meant for cooperatives was being pocketed by the few privileged, Bowman Lusambo has said.
Mr Lusambo, the former Kabushi Member of Parliament says the formation of cooperatives was just a façade aimed at hoodwinking and duping young Zambians that they would be the beneficiaries when the reality was that only the UPND big boys, including some high-ranking leaders were the ones amassing the wealth.
Mr Lusambo, the former Copperbelt Minister said he had evidence that known people close to the Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo were controlling finances of the Black Mountain and sharing the spoils at the expense of the youths for which it was meant.
“The youths who were supposed to benefit from the Black Mountain have not received anything as most of the beneficiaries are those close to the Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo. The Black Mountain has become a gold mine for a selected class of the UPND leaders who are the biggest beneficiaries at the expense of the youths for which it was meant for. We are requesting that the Auditor General should get interested in what is happening at the Black Mountain and audit the slug damp and Zambians would be shocked of what would be exposed,” Mr Lusambo said.
Mr Lusambo said it was only prudent that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and other investigative wings should move in and investigate the crimes being committed at the Black mountain.
And commenting on the Mkushi Sack Mine saga Mr Lusambo said that the scandal had been exposed by members of the UPND because those in leadership were getting richer while their foot soldiers had been used, abused and refused.
He said the Sacko Mine scandal in which UPND Lusaka Province chairman Obvious Mwaliteta and his national youth chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso had been exposed was but a glimpse of the plunder and looting perpetrated by the new dawn administration.
