Be transparent in deals struck for the country, HH urged

FEIRA Member of Parliament Emmanuel Tembo has called on President Hakainde Hichilema to be transparent in the memorandum of understandings and the other deals that he signs and makes on behalf of the Zambians.

President Hichilema recently signed an MoU for the putting up the Africom in Zambian where the contents  have not been disclosed to Zambians.

Mr Tembo says the President needs to understand that he was elected to govern the country on behalf of Zambians and he owes them an explanation for every MOU that he signs on their behalf.

He says it’s unfortunate that the UPND government has chosen not to be transparent to the Zambians who elected them into office.

Some of the deals struck so far include the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way estimated to cost nearly US$600 million, as well awarding of an audit deal of the defence forces to a private company, a matter which opposition leaders have described as illegal.
