Lusaka man charged over Zesco cables

A 29-YEAR-OLD man of Lusaka’s Garden Park area has been nabbed for attempting to vandalise 16x44x8 meter cable valued at K850 public property of Zesco Limited.

Alfred Sichizya appeared at the Lusaka Magistrate Court and pleaded not guilty to one count of attempt to vandalism.

Sichizya told the court that he did not vandalise any Zesco cables and that he doesn’t know any matter involving cables.

Particulars of the offence are that on November 22, 2022 Sichizya did attempt to vandalise Zesco cables without lawful authority.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man of Lusaka has been taken to court for stealing two crates of Black Label and other assorted spirits.

Kelvin Mwanza was caught after breaking into a a bar and stole property worth K18, 500.

Mwanza, 36, pleaded not guilty to one count of breaking into a bar and committing a felony therein. Allegations are that, on unknown dates but between September 17 and 18, 2022 in Lusaka, Mwanza did break into a bar and stole one Plasma TV, an amplifier, two crakes of Black Label and assorted spirits altogether valued at K18, 500.
