ZAMBEEF Chief Executive Officer, Faith Mukutu, has said that value addition is key to feeding the nation and the region.
Speaking when she led a team of directors who visited the Mpongwe farms on the Copperbelt, Ms Mukutu highlighted that ZAMBEEF was focused on value addition as a means to feeding the nation and the region.
“I stand with the Republican President (Mr. Hakainde Hichilema) on promoting Value addition, in order, to feed the nation and the region,” Ms Mukutu said.
She, also, highlighted that with the announced investment of USD $ 100 million, ZAMBEEF is positioned to double production capacity and extend its trading boundary.
“We have the capacity to not only feed the nation but the region as well. I applaud the recent engagement between the Republican President and the commercial grain growers which was focused, among others, on promoting food security and specifically on maize and mealie meal,” Ms Mukutu said.
She stated that the capacity expansion works have commenced at the Mpongwe farms. The notable projects include the water reticulation system, extending land for cultivation by a further 5,000 hectares and construction of a new flour milling plant.
Ms Mukutu ZAMBEEF was more than just beef.
