THE Civil Society for Scaling Up -Nutrition has said the projection by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that 12 percent of the Sub-Sahara population may suffer food insecurity should be a wake-up call for Zambia to enhance its food production.
In the latest IMF report, 12 percent of sub-Saharan population are likely to suffer food insecurity as a result of the high food inflation rate.
CSO-SUN interim country director Daniel Kalala says one of the ways to cushion citizens from high inflation rate is to encourage increased food production in the country.
Mr Kalala says as much as the government has put in place measures to reduce high inflation rate, increased food production can help in a way.
