ANGLO American, a global mining company, has announced intentions to consider acquisitions in Zambia after it exited the country in 2002.
The company previously had operations in Zambia but exited in 2002.
This announcement was made by the company’s Chief Executive Director, Mr Duncan Wanblad, at the recently ended Investing in African Mining Indaba in South Africa.
Mr Wanblad said the miner would consider acquisitions in Zambia, where the company previously had operations but exited in 2002.
According to a report by Mining for Zambia, Mr Wanblad said: “Zambia is doing a really good job of making mining investable in that country. It seems to me there is quite a lot of action behind the talk.”
And ZCCM-IH Board Chair, Kakenenwa Muyangwa, said it was not only Anglo American that was considering a return to Zambia.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.
