Let’s revert to co-mingled fuel

GOVERNMENT should revert to the old fuel importation system and abandon the current method of road transportation which has many flaws and proved to be economically not convenient, former Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) president, Lubinda Haabazoka has said.

Dr Haabazoka said Government should revert to importing comingled crude oil instead of using tanker trucks to bring in finished products.

ZRP demands inquiry in abductors case

WRIGHT Musoma has called for an inquiry in the abduction of former mobile money agent Pamela Chisompa and a dozen other females for over seven months and the eventual jailing of the abductors for more than 660 years.

Mr Musoma is appealing to the Zambia Police and other investigative wings to open an inquest in the 13 abducted females case because according to him, the matter had so many loose ends that needed to be resolved.

Let’s continue to promote cultural values, say Nkombo

TRADITIONAL ceremonies are a uniting factor among the country’s more than 72 tribes and should therefore be promoted and respected, Garry Nkombo has said.

Mr Nkombo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development says the importance of traditional ceremonies should never be over emphasised because of the role they played in uniting and developing the country.

Gov’t keen to better education sector

MINISTRY of Information and Media Director Spokesperson Thabo Kawana says Government’s key agenda is ensuring that the education sector thrives as it a catalyst to poverty reduction.

Speaking at the ongoing Zambia International Trade Fair in Ndola, Mr. Kawana said education plays a pivotal role in the country’s economy, hence ensuring that every Zambian child has the opportunity to go to school.
