OPPOSITION leader Sean Tembo says it would cost the government approximately K3.4 million to renovate Nkwazi House, which is far cheaper than the estimated cost at K126 Million per annum been spent for President Hakainde Hichilema commuting between his private residence and Statehouse.

Patient with antibiotic-resistant lung infection saved with bacteriophages

A multidisciplinary team from the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) has for the first-time used bacteriophages to successfully treat a patient suffering from an antibiotic-resistant chronic bacterial lung infection. This success was achieved thanks to a highly personalized, multidisciplinary approach involving the selection of a bacteriophage specific to the patient’s multidrug resistant bacteria.

A new computational technique that combines genomic and tau PET imaging data promises a more personalized approach for subtyping Alzheimer’s disease. Based on a novel clustering framework using sparse canonical correlation analysis (SCCA), the integrated approach was successful in identifying four subtypes of Alzheimer’s disease and the top genes associated with each.
