Mwale said he was looking forward to return to the ring to defend his crown as an ABU champion.

“For now, I need to be serious with training because all eyes are on me now. I need to work extra hard so that I don’t lose the belt,” Mwale said.

He said defending the ABC crown would increase his chances of challenging and becoming a world champion.

Mwale, a police officer applauded the Zambia Police for supporting his boxing career and promoting him to the rank of Sergeant after winning the ABU title.

Mwale vowed to continue working hard to make his employers and all the sponsors proud.

He also encouraged young boxers who look up to him as an African champ to stay focused and disciplined to achieve their targets.

“You can’t be a champion if you don’t have discipline. You don’t have to become pompous after being a champion, you need to have discipline to succeed. You need to listen to what your coach and your manager are telling you,” Mwale said.

And Mwale’s coach Mike Zulu said he was proud of Mwale’s achievements.

Meanwhile, OQBP Manager Chris Malunga has hailed all the sponsors who contributed to the successful hosting of the Kungful Fight Night.
