ATLAS MARA Bank has hailed Red Arrows men’s and women’s rugby clubs for scooping 12 trophies during the 2023 rugby season.

Atlas Mara Bank Managing Director Bobbline Cheembela said the bank was proud of the Red Arrows Rugby Club for its accomplishments which included winning the Zambia National Rugby League championship for an impressive 10th consecutive time.

Speaking during yesterday’s trophy presentation, Cheembele expressed delight that as shirt sponsors, Atlas Mara has been around to witness Red Arrows win the Nchanga 10s, Konkola 7s Mopani 7s, the Lusaka Challenge and the recent Independence Challenge.

“Throughout these victories, Atlas Mara’s brand has also shone through considering we have been a proud shirt sponsor over the years,” Cheembela said.

“As we commemorate these achievements, lets reflect on the incredible collaborative journey that began in 2017. Rooted in discipline and excellence, the Red Arrows rugby teams have forged a legacy that perfectly aligns with the values upheld by Atlas Mara,” he said.

After gifting Red Arrows, a K350, 000 sponsorship package for this year, Atlas Mara reaffirmed its commitment to support the Zambia Air Force-sponsored outfits with financial literacy programmes for the players.

Meanwhile, Red Arrows Rugby Club Chairman Amos Chitembwe thanked the bank for motivating the rugby clubs to record tremendous successes over the year.

“These achievements would not have been possible without the support and commitment that Atlas Mara attaches to sport. The support that the club has enjoyed over the years has significantly complemented the Zambia Air Force’s support towards sports,” Chitembwe said.

Chitembwe noted that with support from the bank, the rugby club has become a club of choice after earning its place in the group of illustrious rugby champions.

He said Red Arrows will continue to work hard to deliver in accordance with its sponsors who have bestowed their confidence and trust in the club.
