COPPER Queens captain Barbra Banda has continued with impressive form in the China Taiping Women’s Super League after she helped Shanghai Shengli to humiliate Yongchua Chashan.

Banda contributed a brace to help Shanghai Shengli thump Yongchuan 6-0.
After being involved in the build up to the first and second goal Banda scored the third goal as her team run riot.
Banda used her pace to find her way into the box before unleashing a low shot with her left foot.
The Copper Queens captain then set up the fourth goal before completing her brace, her 11th goal of the season in the Chinese women’s league.
Banda was withdrawn after picking an injury five minutes after the hour mark.
In Turkey, Copper Queens striker and former captain Misozi Zulu scored from the penalty spot to guide Hakkarigucu Spor to a 1-0 win against Adana.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo winger Lameck Banda made two important assists for the US Lecce side that came from behind to draw 2-2 away to Fiorentina in an Italian Serie A encounter played at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Lecce went down as early as the 3rd minute when Nicolas Gonzalez finished off from an Alfred Duncan assist.
Lecce were trailing by two goals in the 25th minute when Duncan doubled the lead for the home team which dominated the first stanza.
Four minutes into the second half, Lecce pulled one back after Tunisian midfielder Hamza Rafia curled in Banda’s assist.
Banda set up Nikola Krstovic for the equaliser before he was substituted in the 90th minute after a great performance as Lecce held on to snatch a point in the away fixture and remain unbeaten after impressing with a 2-1 come-back win against Lazio last weekend.

Magnitude of placebo response identified in drug for treatment of hot flashes

THE Lusaka Magistrate court yesterday refused to issue a bench warrant against Inspector General of Police, Graphael Musamba for failure to attend a court session in a matter Socialist Party President, Fred M’membe lodged a complaint of defamation against him.

Magistrate Chrispin Hampungani said in his ruling yesterday that Dr M’mebe had no authority to make an application for the court to issue a bench warrant against Mr Musamba because he did not seek consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to have his complaint tried by private prosecutors.
He said the other reason was that it was the first time that Mr Musamba was not before court as such, he was giving him a benefit of doubt.
Dr M’membe, former managing editor of the Post Newspaper Limited in liquidation stated in his complaint that Mr Musamba caused to be unlawfully published on various media platforms, defamatory matter concerning him with intent to defame him .
Dr M’membe stated that on August 8 2023, Mr Musamba, the accused held a press briefing at the Zambia Police Service
Headquarters in which briefly he was the core subject with his name being mentioned several times by Mr Musamba.
Dr M’membe stated that in the said press briefing , Mr Musamba utterred among others that, “ Socialist party leader Fred M’membe‘s statements on various social media platforms are inciting peace-loving Zambians into a civil disobedience among other utterances.
The court adjourned the case to September 11 2023.
